Young Vic Directors Program
(October 2021 to March 2022)
The Young Vic is looking for a Project Producer to support the work of our Directors Programme from mid-October 2021 to March 2022. The role would focus on two projects specifically, but also provide support across wider activity.
The first is Accessing New Technologies a six-week investigative project for Deaf, disabled and neuro-divergent artists and producers who want to explore new technology and specifically Virtual Reality. The project is facilitated by Sacha Wares’ company Trial and Error and director Rachel Bagshaw and the project will take place online over Zoom.
We are looking for someone with a willingness to work alongside others to join and support their colleagues in the Young Vic becoming an actively anti-racist organisation.
Project responsibilities include:
- Provide overall project management for the project liaising closely with key Young Vic staff within the Directors Program including DP Administrator and Associate Artistic Director
- Liaise with artists on access requirements and ensure in place
- Communicate with guest speakers re access and technology needs (there is a new technology specialist who is working with us to support this area) and ensure provision in place
- Co-ordinate communication of information and support from YV production team as appropriate
- Liaise with expert providing new technology support
- Responsible for budget and schedule management
- Liaise with tech support provider over headsets and VR content
- Manage planning meetings
- Other duties as appropriate to the delivery of the project
The second project is Spring Curated Workshops - a series of six workshops curated by three multi-disciplinary artists for the Young Vic’s Directors Program that will be a combination of in-person, online and hybrid. There will be a total of nine workshops from January 2022. The dates and times of the workshops will be scheduled around the availability of the artists and space/resources at the Young Vic.
Project responsibilities include:
- Provide overall project management and producing for the project liaising closely with YV Associate Director/Genesis Fellow and Associate Artistic Director
- Liaise with Directors Program Administrator for support as necessary
- Liaise with guest curating artists re scheduling, resources and technology needs
- Co-ordinate communication of information and support from YV production team as appropriate
- Scheduling and facilitating planning meetings with artists and Young Vic
- Responsible for budget and schedule management
- Other duties as appropriate to the delivery of the project
The Young Vic would be responsible for the administration and recruitment of participants.
Skills and Experience
- Interest and knowledge of new technologies
- Expertise in creative access and meeting access needs of Deaf, disabled and neuro-divergent artists
- Producing and project management skills including budget management
Contract and Renumeration
Between 2 – 3 days a week from October 2021 – March 2022 (inclusive) pro rata £35,000 (average of 7 hours a day).
Start Date is as soon as possible.
The days will be mutually agreed and are flexible to work around other commitments and the shape of the projects.
