Christophe Gérard

Writer Director Creator

Writer and director, Christophe Gérard is also a scenographer, a set designer and an art director, as well as a university lecturer at University College London.

The work he has done as a director has been acclaimed in a long list of festivals around the world. His interest lies where there is a strong dramaturgy, not in any particular style or medium, to the point of directing animation pieces, an interactive performance, several shows at the Hayward Gallery and a viral for The Young Vic.

Since 2008, he is a reader for and an elected member of the Pictanovo commission in France.

Training

Christophe gained experience in theatre with Dominique Sarrazin (Theatre de la Decouverte - several plays) and Guy Alloucherie (Le Ballatum Theatre - "Si tu me quittes, est-ce que je peux venir aussi?") and have worked for several years in film and television as an art director / set designer where he had the opportunity to collaborate very closely with David Thacker on two BBC productions - "The Scold's Bridle" and "Miller Shorts".
