Ruth Norwood

Costume Designer Costume Maker Wardrobe

My name is Ruth (she/her), I am a London based costume designer maker with a love of theatre.

Designing with colour at the forefront, I combine a knowledge of historical costume with modern making techniques utilising pattern drafting and cutting and hand and machine sewing, alongside digital drawing and 3D printing. Whether this is from actor to audience or participants in community-based projects, I use my skills and knowledge to connect people by interpreting memorable shared experiences into strong visual narratives.

I am interested in continuing on this path working with marginalised communities to make theatre more accessible. I love working hands in a supportive team to produce the best art possible.
