Samson Hawkins
Director
Playwright
I am a theatre director & playwright from rural south Northamptonshire now living on the canals of England in a narrowboat. I try to make work which identifies a universal truth, and then makes it explode. Due to being a rural working-class person who grew up with learning difficulties a lot of my early work is centered around these themes, though I don't want to be a 'rural working class' theatre director.
Things I believe:
All theatre should be community theatre.
All theatre should be accessible to everyone.
It's a director's job to make everyone else do their best work.
99% of plays would be improved if they had a song.
