Co-creation - Making ‘with’ not ‘for’

Young vic

Co-creation - Making ‘with’ not ‘for’

Tuesday 11 August

4.00pm – 6.00pm

This session will explore the many questions that co-creation poses and open up some practical thinking around how to approach making theatre together.  Julia Thomas will lead the workshop, using the production Go Tell the Bees that she is currently co-creating with National Theatre Wales TEAM and people in Pembrokeshire as a case study.

There will be opportunities to discuss, respond and listen. To share experiences or simply absorb the ideas that arise through questions like:

  • What problem are you trying to solve?
  • Can a creative process be equal for everyone involved?
  • How do you share a vision?
  • What words do you use to describe what you are doing and with who?
  • How do you find the story?
  • How do you tell the story?
  • How will you measure the achievement of your work?
  • This session is open to theatre makers who are interested in telling the stories that matter to those who don’t make theatre (yet).
