East Asian Theatremakers Discussion Group - Part 2

Jennifer Tang felt it important to have a Part 2 follow-up to the discussion to investigate many of the important points raised in the first meeting. Having looked through the notes, Jen is keen to follow up on 3 main areas:
1) Representation -
During COVID, and post COVID - in terms of how we
a) claim an equal voice among Industry Gatekeepers
b) make work / get work put on
c) are represented in the actual stories themselves,
d) see increased diversity and representation in audiences.
2) Sustaining ourselves
Looking after ourselves as artists, as humans, and finding a way to unite the artistic community throughout the EA Diaspora.
3) Thinking about the future of theatremaking
Making work post-Covid and the ways and means in which we can evolve our practice to accommodate new requirements.
As before, this is open to all East Asian artists working in theatre; you do not need to be part of the Young Vic Directors Network, but you do need to sign up here to let us know you are attending the session. Zoom details will be sent the day before.
