Open Session: Practitioners Book Club

Wednesday 16th December

7.00 – 8.30pm

Text: Why Is That So Funny by John Wright (Part Four)

Each session we look at a chapter or two of a leading text for theatre-makers, offering:

  • Motivation to read the text!
  • Deeper understanding through discussion with peers

Sessions normally follow the format of:

  • Sharing responses to the text
  • Working in breakout groups to summarise a section or few pages, and sharing back – to consolidate understanding
  • Discussion of how the theory/exercises could apply to your own work and current projects

The club is open to anyone interested in acting, directing and theatre-making, with any level of experience.

This session will be Part Four of Why Is That So Funny by John Wright. You can attend having read all of this section, part of this section (or the whole book!).

You can buy the text from Nick Hern Books who are offering a discount with the code: YVDIRECTORS30
