Amara Heyland

Director

I am a director and theatre-maker from the North West. My previous work has spanned new writing, devised work, classic and historic texts, and adaptations. I am particularly interested in text-based and dramaturgical work, new writing and actor-centred processes. I have been a visiting director and facilitator at Rose Bruford College and am currently Resident Assistant Director at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. I am training on the MFA Theatre Directing programme at Birkbeck 2022-24.
