Beth Bowden

Theatre-maker Writer Director

An interdisciplinary theatre-maker and director (she/her), based between London and the South West. I have studied at The University of Exeter, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (distinction in MA Advanced Theatre Practice) and with the National Youth Theatre. My theatre-making practice makes a mess, deconstructs form, and subverts traditional theatre structures. Working in collaborative, research led, responsive ways, I aim to champion accessible art for social justice.

I am a VAULT Five Artist for 2022/2023 and an Almeida Youth Board Member, and am currently being mentored by award winning playwright and dramaturg Tatty Hennessy.

My most recent project, RIGHT OF WAY, was just performed at VAULT Festival with 5 Star Reviews (Broadway World, ATDazzles, Liam O'Dell, EveryTheatre), and was nominated for Show of the Week Award (VAULT Festival).

I have also just completed a Producing Placement with the Theatre Department at Shakespeare's Globe and am the current Participation Coordinator at the Almeida Theatre.
