Kim Wright

Director

With my experience and expertise as a theatre maker along with a desire to develop my directing skillset, I strongly believe that I would be an asset to the creative team on the production of Hamlet.

I am keen to work alongside both Lucy Hind and Greg Hersov on this programme and would value the practical opportunity to gain insight into assisting on a play, allowing me to develop my individual practise in direction whilst engaging with an exciting and experienced creative team. I have also worked with Kev McCurdy in stage combat whilst undertaking unarmed and single sword training.

I am due to start a MA in Movement Direction at Central in October and would hugely benefit from this professional experience, demonstrating my ability to work on a production through concept to performance. Being part of the discussion early on in pre production would strongly support my work, informing bold creative choices and providing a greater understanding of the joint vision shared for Hamlet.

My professional experience covers directing , movement and production in theatre with a specific focus on how actors can explore through physical exploration, research and discoveries. This opportunity would in no doubt provide me with an outstanding, invaluable experience contributing to positive career progression.
