Zoe Templeman-Young

Director

Zoë trained as an actor at RADA before becoming a freelance director and dramaturg.
She was shortlisted for 2024 JMK Award, was the 2021 Jerwood Associate Director on Hamlet (Young Vic) and is the artistic director of the award-winning verbatim company, Écoute Theatre. Her play, Take Care, was published in 2020 by Nick Hern Books.
Her credits at the Young Vic include a newly commissioned short from Marina Carr (DEMETER, Five Shorts) and The Collaboration, as director on placement.
Other credits include; dramaturg on New Adventures’ 2024 Doorstep Duets production HUM (created by Anjali Mehra) and directing A Quiet Voice (Amy Rosenthal) and 46 Jews (Richard Katz) as part of Emanate Productions, Kiln Theatre.
Zoë is a visiting director at RWCMD (Angels in America [2023], The Book of Dust: La Belle Sauvage [2022], Indecent [2022]) and Drama Studio, and is an Associate Director at RADA.
She is a mentor to refugee actors at TWWR and helps support creatives of all ages starting their careers in theatre.
