Danie McIntyre

Hi, my name is Danie Mcintyre (She/Her), I am an actor and aspiring director from Essex. I recently graduated with a Distinction in my Masters for Professional Acting from the drama school the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London. Since graduating I have been managing a front of house team at a theatre in Essex for the last 6 months. I have also started my own business as an acting coach, mostly focusing on aspiring young actors wanting to go to Drama School.

Despite being an actor, I found my love for directing 2 years ago when I directed my first professional show at the Lakeside Theatre in Essex, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Since then I have tried to throw myself in head first to any extra opportunities I can find or that are offered to me and my head of year made me aware of the directors program at the Young Vic.

The long term goal is to be making and directing my own work as well as incredible work by new writers as well as well known plays at my dream theatre's (as all directors do). I'm currently actively finding professional directors who are willing for me to shadow them as an AD to build my experience and knowledge as an aspiring director.
