Jamie Hale

Director

They/them
I'm the Artistic Director of CRIPtic Arts, a multidisciplinary arts organisation focused on creating opportunities for d/Deaf and disabled creatives. I have received extensive Arts Council funding for this, and have showcased writing, performance, and/or direction at the Barbican Centre, Lyric Hammersmith, Southbank Centre, Tate Modern, and other venues.

I have worked curating the CRIPtic Pit Party at the Barbican Centre in 2019, featuring a range of artists and my debut solo show, NOT DYING, and curating/directing the CRIPtic Arts development programme and CRIPtic Pit Party at the Barbican Centre in 2021. My work crosses between writing, dramaturgy, curating, and directing, and I was in the Graeae Ensemble in 2020.

In 2021, I won Director/Theatremaker of the Year in the Evening Standard Future Theatre Fund Awards.
