Alice Bravery

Director

Born in Jersey, Alice (she/her) is a theatre-maker, actress and producer who trained at the University of York’s Department of Theatre, Film and Television and as a puppeteer at the prestigious Curious School of Puppetry in 2020, under the expert guidance of Sarah Wright, Rene Baker, Mervyn Millar. Alice has also worked professionally as a producer for cross-arts organisation ArtHouse Jersey between 2013-2019. Within this role, Alice was responsible for a huge array of interesting and worthwhile projects, supporting both local and International artists and companies, and she is highly skilled in project management, producing and facilitation to support artists across the full spectrum of creative mediums. As a Director Alice recently professionally directed a sell out production of Mike Bartlett's Contractions in 2020 for Feisty Goat Theatre, performed by Annigna Kennedy and Rhona Richards, as well as a one-man show In Receipt written and performed by Simon MacDonald. She has previously shadowed directors Natalie Ibu, Andy Brunskill, Kate Budgen and Rachel Grunwald as part of the 2011 New Plays Project produced by the Jersey Arts Trust.

Alice is particularly passionate about supporting new work in its early development, and using collaborative ensemble-led devised theatre making practices. As a trained puppeteer also, she is especially interested in highly visual, physical theatre and puppetry.
