CAMILLE DAWSON

Writer Director Performer

Camille Dawson is a critically acclaimed comedy director, writer and performer. She is motivated by writing riotous, heartfelt and hilarious scripts with honest female experiences at its heart. She is an associate artist at the Albany Theatre, Deptford.

She is the founder and Artistic Director of Frisky Arts, an associate company to New Diorama Theatre. Camille has written and performed in original theatre pieces (PUSSY, Girl World, Night on Boob Mountain), carving out a multi-art, absurdist and comedic style.

She has performed her work nationally and internationally at venues including: The Pleasance Theatre London, Bristol Old Vic, Camden People’s Theatre, The Albany Theatre and New Diorama, receiving 5-star reviews and sell out houses.

Beyond her original work, Camille is a collaborator with: Emergency Exit Arts, Stumble Trip Theatre, Walk the Plank, A Line Art, Blue Mouth Inc and more. Her work has been described as “genius” (Broadway Baby), “comedy gold” (The Authentic Project) and “universally relatable” (A Younger Theatre).

Camille has been a recent recipient of Arts Council's 'Develop Your Creative Practice' fund in which she will be interrogating her directing and writing to create more activist, socio-political work. Working across theatre, screen and participatory performance she will explore how her work can be used as a tool for social change.
