I started directing theatre at the age of sixteen. I graduated from California University of Northridge where I started my own theatre company. As the artistic director of the Bridgeway Theatre company, we produced six shows over two years. I directed and led our group of diverse artists from new works to a successful musical. Our theatre company was based on equal opportunity for all, where we hired women, disabled and trans artist. As well as people of many different cultures. Including people of Latino and Jewish descent.
As a company we became known for challenging work in the Santa Clarita (LA Area), this led to us being involved in the Phoenix Festival (Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival) as a guest company.
In California where I become a manager of local theatre. I produced the Stage on Screen theatre festival, this was an international festival, with four different seasons. I had to manage over thirty-two different productions on Zoom. We were able to reach audiences of over 1000 people internationally.
As a director I am most interested in new works, collaborating with new playwrights to create and devise theatre. I am also interested in reimagining classic works such as Shakespeare, Beckett and Moliere. Like my work on Blood on Thy Hands by Sarah Hofstedt at the M.A.I.N. Theatre in United States. This was a reimagining of three Shakespearian women's experiences. My website is sndirector.com. My preferred pronouns are He/Him/His.
