Cansu Ezgi Ince

Actor Director Writer Performing Artist

About me:

My personal story has been shaped by varied cosmopolitan influences even before I was born. I’m coming from a family with Kurdish, Turkish, Alewi, Armenian, Iranian background. They came to Istanbul as immigrants and have worked tirelessly in low paid jobs to provide for my education. As such, I grew up in an atmosphere where eastern and western cultures intermingled. Even now my mind is preoccupied with having a better understanding of who I am, what life is all about and improving my horizon. Sometimes with amazement and admiration, sometimes with confusion.

I have always been very interested in stories and other creative forms of expression in this process. Literature, music and the dramatic arts have been driving passions for me. My goal is to use all my education and knowledge to give back to the community and people whose access to quality and uninterrupted opportunities is at risk.

To be able to open space and be resourceful for people I’d like to extend my skills by developing myself as a collaborative theatre-maker and performance artist while experimenting with a range of practices (such as producing, director assistant and developing new work) that will allow me to play a role in today's theatre-making landscape. By broadening my ways of practice, I am willing to bring out the richness and diversity of the culture I grew up in because I believe there is so much potential. I trust we can reach universal bonding by intertwining different cultures and practices all around the world. I have many experiences in various areas of theatre and performing arts. I also have professional experience in TV and film. I’m an theatre-maker, deviser and actor yet has expressed interest in aspects of directing, producing, volunteering. I have international experiences in Germany, Australia, Greece and Argentina.

Overall, all these experiences gave me cross cultural experience, improvisation and performing skills. And now as an early stage career actor, I’m looking for new opportunities to follow my passion for creating and participating in better things, personal growth and develop my skills.
