Pía Laborde-Noguez (1990, Mexico; she/her; Mexican/French; Latinx) studied acting at RADA, and Anthropology at Goldsmiths University. In 2019 she founded DOLORES; a collective offering a hybrid and multidisciplinary language in the field of theatre, language, film and videoart.
DOLORES launched as first project the Spanish translation and staging of A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing, originally the novel by Eimear McBride. Una niña es una cosa a medio formar premiered at the Tamayo Contemporary Art Museum in Mexico City where it was nominated for “best monologue” by the Association of Journalists and Theatre Critics (ATCP).
In Film, DOLORES participated in the production of In the Era by artist Manuela de Laborde, in collaboration with Montem collective, Tezontle Studio, and the AA school of Architecture.
Pía also worked alongside Joanna Duncombe as co-curators of the film programme at CASA Festival.
