Jessica Munna

actor writer filmmaker theatremaker

(she/her) I am a writer, actor theatre/filmmaker. I am interested in working in hybrid environments that combine online and onsite performance and combines the aesthetic of filmmaking and theatre-making. I began my career as a documentary filmmaker before training in theatre acting and I am interested in work that combines these aesthetics/mediums.

My original work is typically anthropological in its content and satirical or surreal in its style using any combination of comedic, aural, or cinematic elements.

My most recent original work was a commissioned 20 minute hybrid online/live performance for Bradford Live & Barrel Organ. The work was a collaboration with another artist, Madiha Ansari, in which we co-created a show entitled "What A Drag" in which we both made drag characters based on our respective female experiences.
