Ella Fidler

Playwright Theatre Director

Hello! I am a writer and director who grew up in Hong Kong, moving to London in 2017, on the hunt for bookshops! The theatre that exists in my head is full of music, dance, circus, movement and art. Amongst all of this, I love stories that dig deep into characters and people, uncovering unexpected truths. An undergraduate degree in psychology is actually what pushed me to choose a path in theatre. I am curious about how both enormous displays and tiny details on stage can reveal so much about internal experiences, perhaps in counterintuitive ways. I love theatre that tackles mental health in new, honest ways and theatre that finds hope and light in dark places. In the future I really hope to work with Deaf artists, but my BSL is still patchy to date! I identify as she/her.
