Giovanna Koyama

Hello, my name is Giovanna, Brazilian-Performer, Theatre-Maker and Director! I’m also a bubbly and energetic person :) , always up for a team work!
My debut play as Director was last year at Omnibus Theatre Clapham, in October.
I directed “Her Open Eyes, by Raquel Diana, trans. By Sophie Stevens. As part of the StoneCrabs Directors in Practice Showcase 2022.
My background is 8 years in dance, and after that I graduate as professional actor in Brazil in 2015.
In the UK, I took part in Gecko summer residency 2022.
I co-created and co-directed "Mulheres Que Sangran", pre-premiered in two feminist congress in Barcelona and official selected for LIFT-OFF GLOBAL NETWORK First-Time Filmmakers, Zeitimplus Shortfilm Festival in Vienna and was in the list of Award Nominee for Best Female Short Film by Female Directors in Thessaloniki Free Short Festival, 2021
Today, my work focuses on theatre making, directing, movement and devising.
Additionally, being a foreign in the UK, I would like to bring the Latin American Culture to the stage in a way everyone can connect with it.
