Ruby Battiscombe-Scott
Theatre director
Scriptwriter
Costume designer
My name is Ruby Scott, my pronouns her she/her, and I graduated at the University of York studying Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance. After studying theatre for the past few years, I've been able to hone my craft in directing, writing and design.
Directing performances is something I am particularly passionate about after being given many opportunities to write and/or direct various plays and musicals. Being a part of these productions has provided me with the experience I need to further my career in directing.
Moving into professional performance as a director, designer or writer would be an incredible opportunity that I would work especially hard to achieve.

Training
My undergraduate degree in Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance has provided me with focused modules concerning, directing, design, dramaturgy, acting and scriptwriting. I have taken part in multiple workshops in each of these fields and each one has aided me in improving each aspect regarding my career as a theatre professional. As apart of this course, I have also had the opportunity to contribute to the making of full scale semi-professional productions that have been great successes in the creative sense. I have also been taken part in multiple writing and directing workshops in York that have broadened my perspectives on how to take skills further when getting involved in productions.
