Musical Theatre writer Dramaturg Librettist Lyricist Playwright

Caitlyn is an award-winning lyricist and librettist who, along with Amir Shoenfeld, has recently spent six months based at Theatr Clwyd as the first Cameron Mackintosh resident writing team. While they were there, the music from their new musical 'Otto Weidt's Brush and Broom Workshop for the Blind', was chosen to workshop with Claude-Michel Schönberg. They have won the Song for Our Time initiative with the song ‘Looking at the Moon’, selected by Tony winner, Jason Robert Brown (Tarento Productions 2020) and their piece 'The Only Honeyeater' won their mini-musical competition by SMOFA (Sweden, 2022). Caitlyn was chosen for the Hosking Houses Trust writers’ residency and bursary and received a Judges Lyrebird Award for her original songs in the play Twenty-Twelve.

Caitlyn’s mini-musical, Sheila the Tiny Turtle, featured in the first season of Bite-Sized Broadway: A mini musical podcast by IndieWorks Theatre (NY). She was commissioned to write children’s dance tour, Lucy’s Search for Starz (2019), and the International Dance Technique Clubhouse programme (2021).

Caitlyn’s work has been featured in new musical showcase SIGNAL (curated by Adam Lenson), Radio program SIT IN THE STALLS, Elaine Paige on Sunday BBC Radio 2, and on Australian new musical podcast, FROM INSPIRATION TO STAGE.

Caitlyn has taught and directed at APO Arts Academy, WestEnd Workshops, Leeds Conservatoire, Montage Theatre Arts and was the Director of Performing Miracles in Melbourne. She is a member of BML (Book, Music & Lyrics), the UK’s leading workshop for musical theatre creators, and her work can be found on New UK Musicals.

Caitlyn also works as a Dramaturg and loves to be part of developing new works.
