Emilija Varnaite

I am an artist who strives to broaden my knowledge and pursue a career in the art department of a foreign country. My experience includes various projects and exhibitions in my home country, Lithuania, where I have honed my skills and developed a deep passion for the arts. Additionally, working with SEN school children has broaden my ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, a valuable asset in the art world. I am eager to further my knowledge and advance my career in the art department of a foreign country, specifically in the areas of creating pops and stage management. With my unique combination of creativity, technical skills, and experience, I am confident that I would make a valuable contribution to the program.

Training

I have done work/projects in my home country Lithuania and I have passion for the arts. I have got a well-rounded background in film, tech, and the arts. I studied film and tech for two years and I have got hands-on experience using light and sound equipment for student films. From that, it has given me a strong foundation in understanding how light and sound equipment work, resulting in a successful live performance. I have had the opportunity to observe its use in theatre, although I haven't yet had the chance to use it myself. I've also worked as a stage manager and I have a real passion for prop creation and management. Additionally, my background as a dancer, where I am able to tell stories with my body and it allows me to not only express myself in a stylistic way but it gave me the opportunity to combine my experiences in organising and producing shows. Furthermore, I have a finished a 4 year course in arts school in which I learned about colour theory; using different materials to create paintings (acrylic or oils); naturally allowing me to create a story with my painting, whilst learning pottery to explore different art forms.Therefore, I am excited about the opportunity to bring my unique perspective and passion for the arts to the Young Vic Creative program.
