Emily Cathrine Haldane

Emily (She/Her) is a multi-disciplinary performer, content creator, director, teacher and theater-maker. She has been working professionally in the theater field internationally for the past 8 years in South Africa, Australia, Cambodia and England. She strives to create and perform in work that not only entertains but strives to make positive changes in society.

She studied her Master of Arts in Applied Theater with Distinction at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (2022) under the tutalage of Selina Busby, and completed her undergraduate degree in Sydney, Australia.

Her most notable stage credits as a professional performer include working at Annabel’s Members Club in London as an Immersive Halloween Performer, performing as the cabaret artist Anita D’Filth (Brighton Fringe Festival/ Museum of Comedy), performing as a Queer Burlesque and Cabaret Live Host (Qwe’re London) and most recently performing in The Legend of Kaguya (Light The Flame, Cornwall). Additionally to live stage work, Emily is also a TikTok comedy content creator with over 1,4 Million followers. Her work focuses on queer and biracial themes which make a change in society. She plays over 18 different characters and has been positively influencing children’s lives through the educational narratives that she portrays.

Emily’s directorial work spans across countries but her most notable work can be found in Epic Arts, Cambodia where she devised and directed Our Earth, Tell me can you see my secret?, Out of Shadows and Love. These performances were directed with a team of 7 people with disabilities, and she directed and devised all the pieces in a mixture of Khmer, Sign Language and English. Additionally Emily has directed schools touring performances of The Magical Viola (London School of Music) and The Invisible Dog (Haringey Shed) in London where she now resides.

A teacher and facilitator, Emily has facilitated workshops for companies such as Haringey Shed (UK), A thousand Cranes (UK), Big Time Studios (UK), Tuk-Tuk for Children (Cambodia) and Cerebral Palsy Alliance (AUS). She is also a dance teacher having run her own studio in Cambodia (Dance Uprising) and teaches regular theater classes worldwide. Emily is based in London and is passionate about working on projects that aim to facilitate social change regardless of their scope.
