Imisioluwa Peletu

Singer/ Vocalist Performer Songwriter

My name is Imisi Peletu (SHE/HER): I am a 22 year old vocalist, performer and Songwriter from North London.

I have been singing from age 2, at school assemblies, I thrived in church plays and music schools including Sylvia Young Theatre School. Upon studying at the theatre school and finishing secondary school/ sixth form, I went on to study Music, Performance and Production at the University of Kent, transferred out and enrolled at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. From the institute, I explored my creativity, learning about my personal and artistic identity, writing music for the first time, whilst also travelling around London still singing on stages, open mics, showcases, etc.

Most notably, I had my first television debut as a participant on the UK’s most recognisable singing competition show, ‘The Voice UK’ on its newest series. My performances/ appearances are scheduled to be released later this year. From competing, I have continued my singing and music through numerous live performances, and venues notable for showcasing, such as Orii Jam/ Community and also Troy Bar.
Additionally, Friday 5th May, I also performed at the Moth Club, home to revered artists and singers such as Lianne La Havas, Mahalia and many others. I performed my original song ‘Twenty One’, accompanied by a full band.
I have also been grateful enough to perform at the illustrious Soho House as a guest singer as a residency with the Haüs of Dons Collective, at the White City House division, on multiple occasions.

Upon graduating university, I wanted to cultivate my music skills and passion into learning about Theatre. Most recently, I accepted a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) to study the 'Musical Theatre' short course, scheduled to start in July. I am looking to start my journey into acting and how Musical Theatre marriages the world of Music and the other areas that I am learning about. This is a new discipline for me in which I am exploring.
