Edward Oulton

Writer Actor Liverpool London

Edward Oulton is a Liverpool/London-based writer who's debut play ‘Mortality’ was written and performed in March of 2023 at The Hope Theatre to Sold out audiences and was greeted with enthusiasm for more. He then went on to write ‘Misplaced’ a comedy series that has been Optioned by Vicarious Prd. to pitch to the BBC, Netflix and ITV in the coming months.

His new play Bury your Brothers has been funded for development by ACE. This included a 2 week R and D at the Liverpool Everyman, and two rehearsed readings at the Playhouse Studio and one at the Bush Theatre.

He is also a member of The Old Vic Theatre Makers company where he will be working in development with The Old Vic and Theatre Peckham for the 2023-2024 season.

Finally 'Barrier to Entry' written and performed by Edward Oulton has been picked up by Theatre Peckham's Fringe and will play on their main stage in May 2024.

His writing at the moment has a strong focus on:
• Regionality based on his background as a Northern Writer.
• Men’s mental health and masculinity due to a lack of this in the social conversation.
• The Irish Troubles due to Irish Catholic heritage.
