Anna Ryder
Director
Dramaturg
Facilitator
I am a freelance director specialising in developing and directing new writing. Predominantly based in the North East, I am an Associate Artist at Live Theatre, Newcastle.
I am interested in directing narratives that explore our relationship with power, class and gender, and that interrogate the social structures that maintain inequality and violence within our society.
I am interested in big stories that offer alternative perspectives on familiar personal experiences, and in small stories that challenge our perceptions of wider social issues.
I also work as a script-reader, dramaturg and facilitator. I regularly run creative writing workshops with young people and students.
