Katie Bignell

Katie Bignell (She/Her) is a dynamic, emerging Producer, Writer, Actor, Theatre-Maker, and Marketing Co-Ordinator. She is also the co-founder and co-Artistic Director of Thistle & Rose Theatre and a graduate of East 15's Acting & Contemporary Theatre Course.

Katie is on a mission to bring women's voices center stage, while contributing to the vibrant landscape of fast-paced, contemporary productions that evoke a spectrum of emotions. Art that makes you tingle, cry hard, and laugh even harder. Her debut play POST SEX SPAGBOL won The Space Launchpad Award (2022) and was nominated for The Spirit Of VAULT Award (2023) and an OffFest Award (2023).

With a commitment to creating collaborative, contemporary theatre, Katie’s stage credits include RUBEN (The Space) and her self-written, OffFest-nominated piece POST SEX SPAGBOL (VAULT Festival) produced by Thistle & Rose Theatre, a company she co-founded.
