Alfie is an actor, spoken word poet and playwright. His work shines a beaming light on the lives of the working people and their struggle but importantly how they find hope, laughter and the community spirit which he found growing up on a council estate in West London. In 2018, Alfie produced and directed ‘An Evening For Grenfell’ at
the Lyric Hammersmith in honour of family friends lost and affected.
In 2019, Alfie was awarded the Lilian Baylis Award for those from underrepresented backgrounds who show promise to the future of theatre. Previously he was Cultural Leader at Theatre Peckham, Young Associate and assistant director on START at Lyric Hammersmith.
His play SLUMLORD debuted at the Peckham Fringe in 2019. His other works include When The Mourning Comes which received a short reading at The Royal Court. He was a writer on Hampstead Theatre’s INSPIRE programme led by Roy Williams. His play On The Block was shown as a rehearsed reading directed by Alice Hamilton at the Hampstead Downstairs. Alfie’s poetry has been performed at Theatre Peckham, V&A Museum and Transport For London.
