Joe Gilmour

Theatre Artist Director Facilitator

Joe is an award-winning director based in the North of England, working throughout the UK. I work across scripted and devised work. In the last year Joe has collaborated with writer Jonathan Harvey (writer of the film Beautiful Thing, the show The Dusty Musical, and TV series Call The Midwife), Bruntwood prize-winning playwright Andy Sheridan and Lotte Wakeham (Artistic Director of Octagon Theatre). He works regularly with the established theatres Royal Exchange, Bolton Octagon and Leeds Playhouse. In 2018, Joe was selected by London’s renowned Young Vic as one of their Reach Out directors. For the last three years, he has worked at the Bolton Octagon directing their youth theatre productions. He has written for The Stage newspaper and in 2021 took up a position with the distinguished physical comedy company Told By An Idiot.
