Lana Burns

I am a director, producer and a writer. I am interested in supporting artists as a producer in new material of all kinds, particularly stylized theatre; puppetry, immersive, storytelling, fantastical.

As a director I gravitate towards unusual, high-language scripts with characters that jump from the page. I have also worked with a lot of devising groups.

Training

2007-2011: Was tutored in Speech and Drama from grade five to Associate certificate: ASB-performance.
2009-2011: Studied NCEA Drama and English
2010-2011: Attended NYDS, taking classes such as; voice, circus, body/movement, stage combat. All these classes resulted in a performance at the end of the week. 2010- Circus Performance, acrobatics, juggling, balancing. 2011- Performed excerpts of The Women of Troy.
2012-2014: Studied and Graduated with a BA in English and Theatre. My courses included Creative writing for theatre and dramaturgy.
