Aran Cherkez

Director

Aran Cherkez is a theatre director and DJ, and is the Artistic Director of Haringey Shed. They were awarded a recipient of the MGC Futures bursary 2022/23 to develop their new dance theatre concept, The Departing Memoir, based upon their work as a health care worker in the pandemic. They graduated with a First Class Honours in European Theatre at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance and trained with the Gardzienice Theatre Company in Poland. Aran is an Associate Artist at the Kings Head Theatre and a Lead West End Creative Learning Practitioner for ATG . Within the industry and community, Aran is a multi-disciplined artist and has a keen interest in ensuring there is an inclusive practice, displaying diversity within art, offering non-traditional audiences with theatrical experiences and uses musicality: the relationship between music, movement and text to facilitate this. Aran is a Visiting Director for Rose Bruford College. Aran has DJ'd in a prime slot for Pride in London 2022 at the Southbank Centre for Nazar and Hungama.
