Emma Jude Harris

Director

I am a director/dramaturg/maker, originally from the US. I make work across disciplines, including opera, music theatre, classic and early modern theatre, and new writing. I am interested in applying contemporary theatre practice and aesthetics to canonical texts to interrogate their relevance. Additionally, I am interested in dismantling notions of genre and hegemonic value. I am the co-director of Global Origins, a platform and network for international, multicultural, and diasporic multidisciplinary artists. Interests include the Jewish diaspora, mental illness, opera and music theatre, Restoration theatre, and 'the canon'.
