Nuria Legarda Andueza

Nuria Legarda is a theatre maker based in London and Barcelona. She develops experimental contemporary theatre, interdisciplinary and multi-layered, where form and content complement each other.

After twenty-two years of experience as a performer, choreographer, and director, she specializes in approaching performance through the lens of the body and visual. Her work hones its focus towards notions of fear and survival and probes at the borders of normative human behaviour.

Her practice and research of new theatrical forms are based on the methodological principles, which lead to an interdisciplinary relational dramaturgy, based on compositional strategies to multiple and simultaneous artistic languages ​.

The purpose of the method is to promote individual and collaborative research and deliberately devise an interdisciplinary scenic process. Consequently encouraging the development of new skills and tools that generate an artistic work that contains original aesthetic forms.

The work seeks to confront the audience with values ​​of contemporary society reflected within personal relationships and explores the notion of society as a manifestation of our internal processes. Committed to social change, the work holds a mirror up to ourselves.
