I am a theatre-maker and applied theatre practitioner with many years experience working in educational and community settings. I am originally from Bristol and trained with the Bristol Old Vic Company where I first learnt about new devising techniques and became interested in being a theatre maker.I have been based in London since 2015, gaining my undergraduate degree in Drama and Performance (with a minor in Applied Theatre) and later trained with The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
As an applied theatre practitioner I have worked with a number of theatres and companies such as; The Old Vic, The Almeida, NYTW, The Space. Working with young people and community members is at the heart of my practice and I understand the importance of the arts within these settings.
As a theatre-maker I have had the privilege to work with so many artists and companies, it’s hard to briefly write about them all. In 2018, I co-founded the company; Damsels Reconstructed where we took our debut piece, Three Bloody Marys, Please to Battersea Arts Centre and Southend Fringe Festival. Most recently, I worked on an R&D of The Lesson with Icarus Theatre. This was an ACE funded R&D working with creative captioning (the captions became a design element and were embedded into the performance rather than just subtitled captions) and how to make theatre more accessible for deaf and people who are hard of hearing.
I am also a recipient of Ignite 2021 award by Trinity Laban for The Sleep Project.
Currently I am working as Schools Producer at The Almeida Theatre in the Participation Team as well as freelancing for other theatre companies based in London working with young people and community members.
