Annie North

Director Writer

My name is Annie and I was born, bred and currently live in Brighton. My preferred pronouns are she/her.

I am currently an Assistant Director at True Story Theatre, a company in Brighton who create epic stories on a shoe-string budget and perform shows in a deconsecrated church turned art space, where we try to reach out to the poorer areas of Brighton and get them in to see the shows.

I am also part of a Queer, Feminist theatre collective called Clap Back Club; we devise original pieces of comedic theatre (and accidentally write musicals), where we satirise the current state of politics and aim to create safe and inclusive environments to open up conversations surrounding feminism and what we can do to keep fighting. I am interested in contemporary, political works that comment on the current state of the world or any work that aims to make a difference in the daily lives of people.
