Ashleigh Sobowale

Director playwright Child and adult facilitator Dramaturge Singer/Actor

Ashleigh Sobowale is a graduate at Royal Central School of Speech and drama. At seventeen with no qualifications, the Young Vic Theatre introduced Ashleigh into the world of Theatre by providing the opportunity to perform on their stages (Parallel Yerma). Through the director's program, Ashleigh proceeded as an assistant director for a taking part production (UMBD) in 2020. As an aspiring writer, director and theatre practitioner, Ashleigh explores writing for community performance and directing meaningful staged/digital work. Ashleigh has experience with leading after-school drama clubs, with secondary schools in London. I am also keen to expand in this work by introducing drama to students who are capable and unfamiliar with it. I believe in the saying 'Good art never dies and lives on'.
