I am a director, performer, creator, and teacher with a background in opera and an interest in all kinds of live performance and mixed media. I am experienced in working with animation and dance.
I've completed the Royal Opera House's Mentorship Programme, and I've been nominated for two Off West End Awards for Best Opera Production (Der Vampyr and Bluebeard's Castle for Gothic Opera.) My interactive theater piece Pizza Parlance was listed in Nombre Art Magazine's "5 Must-Sees of Venice Biennale" and revived for NWR-Forum Düsseldorf and adapted for film for the Toronto Museum of Contemporary Art . I was a National Opera Association Directing Fellow (US) and have staged new work at the Helsinki Festival and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. I'll direct East West Street at the Alliance Francaise in Washington DC this December.
I'm also an opera singer, and have performed leading roles with Theater an der Wien, Welsh National Opera, Washington National Opera, and the Dresden Semperoper.
I've led seminars at the University of Cologne's Institute for Art and Art Theory, and have been a guest lecturer at University of Liverpool and Catholic University (Washington, DC.) I am a Juilliard grad, with additional studies at Columbia University.
With a decade of experience behind me in opera and devised work, I'm excited to explore directing more straight plays and musicals.
