Patrick Eakin Young

I am Canadian-born director and dramaturg based in London, specialising in interdisciplinary projects, particularly music and sound-driven performance and installation. I'm interested in adapting contemporary literature, memoir, and non-fiction narratives that deal with themes of Queerness, history, memory, and the unconscious. I love working with music and collaborating with musicians, choreographers, and composers.

As a director, I work across opera, music theatre, staged concerts, live gigs, and text-based theatre. As a creator, I makes sonic theatre pieces and installations in collaboration with a core team of creative partners, combining music, dance, text and images. As a dramaturg and artistic facilitator, I assist artists and companies in conceiving interdisciplinary projects, bridging relationships between diverse artistic partners, and help focus creative processes with an emphasis on conceptual clarity and storytelling.
