Maeve Campbell
Director
I'm an early career women - she/ her - theatre-maker.
I specialised in directing on my MA at Birkbeck and RADA, which I graduated from in 2018. For my dissertation at RADA I adapted and directed a one-act version of the Richard Braughtigan novella, 'The Abortion'. I'm interested in working on more literary adaptations and directing well-read theatrical texts. However, I have struggled to find a way into this kind of work post MA, instead I've focused on writing and performing, collaboratively devising with a women-led theatre company I co-founded. Our work has been supported by Theatre Deli, Birkbeck Centre for Contemporary Theatre, Camden People's Theatre and The Old Red Lion.
I also have three years teaching experience, working with young people aged 5 - 18, in mainstream and SEN capacities.
I want to continue to manage and make work with this company, but also work in a directorial capacity with other peoples' words and texts and with inventive designers and producers.
