Sam Edmunds

I am a multi award winning director, producer and writer. I trained on the MFA Theatre Directing at Birkbeck. In 2018 I founded Chalk Line Theatre company, where I am the Co-Artistic Director and we focus on touring new plays both nationally and internationally. Chalk Line is a Graduate Emerging Company of The New Diorama and an Associate Company of Next Generation Youth Theatre.

I am the current Artist Support Producer at Camden People's Theatre and sit on the board of Tangled Feet. I was previously the Resident Assistant Director at The Hampstead Theatre, where he spearheaded their community acting group and a previous Resident Assistant Director at RADA.

Under Chalk Line I have won the Untapped Award 2022, London Pub Theatres Standing Ovation Award 2021, Best International Achievement Award Arts Council Malta 2021 and the COMMON Award 2020. My work has also been shortlisted for the BBC Popcorn Playwriting Award and received multiple OFFIE nominations.

I am interested in work that provides representation to artists from low socio economic backgrounds and is also challenging in it's approach to the politics that surround people living within these communities.
