Lauren Mitchell

Theatre Director Theatre Maker Actor Actor-Musician

I am an emerging freelance director and theatre-maker from Glasgow. Since graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2018, I have predominantly worked with the Citizens Theatre and their Young Co having been a member myself. I am also an actor-musician and co-founder of new company Siren Theatre. This is a female-led company focusing on making genre-defying work with social issues at its heart. We are currently working towards our first production "Text Me When You Get Home" which is gig-theatre piece on female safety on nights out. It recently had its R&D at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow.
I am interested in working with new writers, particularly those who identify as female and who write interesting, colourful stories about female characters. However, I also have a love for classical text and am influenced by companies and directors such as Kneehigh and Emma Rice who take pre-existing stories and re-invent them.
My preferred pronoun is she/her.
