Elsie Yager

Director Writer Adaptor Dramaturg Multi-disciplinary artist

Initially trained as a performer, with experience as a devised theatre maker in Australia, I have spent several years developing my writing and directing practice. I relocated to the UK at the end of 2020 in order to undertake my Masters Theatre Directing at University of London and was awarded the inaugural Alison Hodge Directing Prize for Excellence in Theatre Making.

I am interested in work that plays with form and queers texts to include expressionistic and symbolic gestures that fracture naturalistic storytelling. I am a proudly working class theatre maker and am interested in work that reflects this sensibility and politics.

My preferred pronouns are she/her.
