Kayla Feldman

Director Writer Dramaturg

British-American, Queer, neurodivergent, Jewish director and writer with a background in poetry and solo performance. I was part of the inaugural cohort of the Royal Court Theatre's NO BORDERS Artists Project. My main focus is working in close collaboration with writers on new and urgent work. I have taught at Mountview, East 15, Identity School of Acting, Caspa Arts, and Stagecoach. I was a Co-Founder of Snapper Theatre, was the Associate Producer for Maiden Speech Festival in 2019, and have been a script-reader for Hampstead Theatre and a literary associate for Abingdon Theatre Company in New York.

In 2023 my play Watchdog was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Playwriting, shortlisted for the RSC 37 Plays Project, and longlisted for Theatre503's International Playwriting Prize. In 2022 it received an honourable mention from the Jewish Playwriting Prize and was a top-ten finalist for Titchfield Festival Theatre's Playwriting Award.
