Xana is a sound designer/artist, live loop musician, composer, performer, theatre maker and poet whose works intersect with theatre, film, live performance, community organising and tech. Xana’s creative work focuses on archives and embodying our future narratives and memories through sci-fi, magical realism and blending their genres orchestral noise/thicc bass. Xanas activist work is in accountability, building spaces for Black people, developing avenues of accessibility and working with young people.
Xana is one of the Associate Artists at Ovalhouse Theatre and an Artistic Associate at Young Vic, co-organiser of Afrotech Fest, founded experimental sound research label soulcase.live, organises this years CUTIE BIPOC FEST for queer people, formerly organised Hair Today, Here Tomorrow a space for Black Womxn/Unbinary/Nonbinary people, publishes the children's comic Afronaut Squad and is a 2020 Offie-finalist for Best Sound Design.
