Designer

I'm a London based Set Designer and Artist. I studied English Literature at the University of York, where I became interested in performance design after co-founding The Northern Youth, an event company which produced short films, exhibitions, fashion shows and poetry slams.

After graduating, I was keen to pursue a career in art and design, and studied for a term at the Royal Drawing School. In 2018 I interned at The Costume Institute in New York and, then at Es Devlin’s studio. Alongside my MA, I worked at the New Wimbledon Theatre with the Wimbledon Young Actor’s company, assisting designer Davy String, until the beginning of COVID restrictions in March.

Theatre Design marries a whole host of different interests, from story telling, to live performance and making. Over the next few years I'm looking to experiment with sustainable sets and new materials. I'm also keen to learn more about how theatre can interweave new technology into performance without loosing it’s magic. I'm currently an Associate Designer at Es Devlin Studio.
