David Bolwell

Director

I'm David (He/Him), I am 25 years old and live in East London. I have been working as an amateur director since I was 18 including studying theatre at degree level and I have spent the past year working on various small projects including Directing for Bloom Theatres debut work 'Saplings' and a National E-Theatre digital festival which came as an early response to the pandemic. Also, I have worked in varying roles, mostly in hospitality/Front of House, to pay the bills. I have spent the past year working in various roles (FoH Manager, Duty Manager, Bar Supervisor) at both the Bush Theatre (Shepherds Bush) and Theatre Royal Stratford East (Stratford).

I'm extremely keen to collaborate with other directors, whether it be assisting, shadowing or co-directing. I'd like to work on projects that highlight LGBTQ+ stories and also have an interest in digital work and the adaption we have seen to screen during the pandemic. My strengths as a director stem from my ability to collaborate well with most teams/groups.
